During his weekly appearance on sports radio WEEI, Brady was asked if he had sustained a leg injury during the AFC Championship game. The question was raised based on a picture posted in the New York Post.
"There are always kind of bumps and bruises," Brady told the Dennis & Callahan Show. "I'll be ready for the Super Bowl. I'm not missing this one. I'd have to be on a stretcher to miss this one. There will just be some treatment this week and like I said, games like this you get a little nicked up."
A foot/ankle injury during the game could explain Brady's less than stellar performance at the AFC Championship Game. If he can’t push off that right (plant) foot, he can’t get power on the ball. Remember, Brady is a tough player and would do whatever it takes to get his team to the Super Bowl, including playing injured. This is reminiscent of Titans game in 2002, when he played the whole game with 2nd-degree separation in his shoulder.
