Bill Belichick was in an upbeat mood as he met with the media Sunday evening, especially when the number one pressing question was asked (again!) Can you give us an update on Brady's ankle? Belichick's response: "We'll update the injury report on Wednesday when we're required to do so by the league." Then he smiled.
Tom Brady was perfectly clear in his first Super Bowl press conference that his sprained right ankle is no big deal and he'll play next Sunday in the Super Bowl. The first question to Brady was how's the ankle? "How's the ankle? What did coach say?" This drew laughs from the media.Brady followed that up by saying, "It's doing good. I'll be ready to go."
Brady acknowledged two things that had been suspected by were unconfirmed. First, he has not practiced this week. "It’s been a good week. The team has practiced hard. I haven’t practiced, but I’ve watched them practice hard.”
Second, the the ankle injury injury occurred on a sack early in the third quarter of the AFC Championship against the Chargers. “I wish I could blame interceptions on (the ankle),” he said, “but I can’t.”
